An easy to read in understandable language Summary of Project 2025 (ties Supreme Court Decision to Project 2025) by Sandy Carnegie, JD

I apologize for length As I get deeper into reviewing the Supreme Court opinion, a thought arises that is more than deeply troubling for our country. I have to refer back to Project 2025, the step-by-step manual for Convicted Felon Trump to undo centuries of democratic government and turn America into a powerful autocratic government.

In past posts of Project 2025, I have outlined how it point by point dismantles independent governmental agencies and puts control in the hands of Convicted Felon Trump’s appointees who owe allegiance to Convicted Felon Trump and the ideals espoused in Project 2025.

All appointees will be vetted by a panel of handpicked reviewers who belong to one or more of the 100 or so ultra conservative or Christian Nationalist (religious right) groups supporting Project 2025.

I wrote about Project 2025 in April and now just a few points from the Project 2025 manifesto:

  1. “unitary executive” – entire federal bureaucratic systems and agencies such as the Department of Justice placed under direct presidential control allowing Convicted Felon Trump to directly implement policies which normally was conducted by the bureaucratic systems and agencies themselves.

  1. Implementing Schedule F allowing Convicted Felon Trump to eliminate job protections for government-employees, who could then be replaced by Presidential political appointees who will adhere to the guidelines of Project 2025.

The FBI would become Convicted Felon Trump’s personal investigative agency. These at-will employees would serve depending on their loyalty to Convicted Felon Trump.

3.The Department of Education would be eliminated along with FTC (Federal Trade Commission) and FCC, (Federal Communications Commission) to name a few.

The Justice Department would act under the bidding of the President. Silly me, I thought the Trumplicans were saying Biden had weaponized (hate that word) the Justice Dept.

  1. Project 25 “makes the institutions of American civil society hard targets for woke culture warriors.” Deletion from government rules, policy, regulations and statements, the terms sexual orientation, gender identity, diversity, equity and inclusion.5. Project 2025 calls for a very conservative Christian nation by concentrating the push for right-wing and Christian Nationalist policies.

  1. Other areas to be addressed:
  • Increased funding for a wall on US-Mexico border;
  • consolidation of US immigration agencies and expansion of their powers (political appointees);
  • reduced funding for research and investment in renewable energy;
  • abandonment of carbon-reduction goals;
  • abolishing the Federal Reserve;
  • evaluate return to gold-backed currency;
  • school choice and parental control over schools eliminating “woke propaganda”;
  • stopping efforts to lower prescription drug prices;
  • limiting access to food assistance for families;
  • restrict access to medication,
  • restrict access to abortion;
  • eliminate civil rights protections in multiple areas including health care, education, and workplace in the LGBTQ+ community.

What does the Supreme Court decision have to do with Project 2025? In the decision there are many examples of what Convicted Felon Trump could be allowed to do and court dicta which directly disparages Biden. Here are just a very few of the enabling parts of the Court’s opinion which could influence later cases, including the Florida prosecution: (All of the following statements are taken directly from the Supreme Court Opinion; author comments are in brackets)

  • Management of the Executive Branch” requires him to have “unrestricted power to remove the most important of his subordinates”—such as the Attorney General…;
  • Some of the President’s other constitutional powers also fit that description. “The President’s power to remove—and thus supervise—those who wield executive power on his behalf,” [#2 above implementing schedule F]
  • Executive Branch has “exclusive authority and absolute discretion” to decide which crimes to investigate and prosecute, including with respect to allegations of election crime [somehow trying to legitimize Convicted Felon Trump’s calls to State election folks, his slate of electors, stealing of election. [#2 implementing schedule F and #3 the Department of education]
  • The President possesses “extraordinary power to speak to his fellow citizens and on their behalf; And some Presidential conduct—for example, speaking to and on behalf of the American people, …certainly can qualify as official even when not obviously connected to a particular constitutional or statutory provision. [attempt to justify Jan. 6 speech]
  • The purpose of a “vigorous” and “energetic” Executive, they thought, was to ensure “good government,” for a “feeble executive implies a feeble execution of the government”;
    [There are several occasions the opinion refers to a need for an “energetic” and “vigorous” President rather than a “feeble” one.] [Certainly, implies pot shots at Biden]
  • Marshall, [former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court] acknowledged, however, the existence of a privilege” to withhold certain “official paper[s]” that “ought not on light ground to be forced into public view.”
    [Seems like a prognostication on the confidential documents case].

It now appears that Convicted Felon Trump has denied knowing anything about Project 2025 produced by the ultra-conservative Heritage Foundation, which assisted Convicted Felon Trump in his 1st campaign for President by providing essential help in Convicted Felon Trump’s transition team supplying staffing for his term as President.

From the publication Politico in Nov. 2016 about the connection between Convicted Felon Trump and the Heritage Foundation. [See WSJ article too]

The following are excerpts from that 2016 article: “Now, the Heritage Foundation has emerged as one of the most influential forces shaping President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team… Part gatekeeper, part brain trust and part boots on the ground, Heritage is both a major presence on the transition team itself and a crucial conduit between Trump’s orbit and the once-skeptical conservative leaders who ultimately helped get him elected…

Heritage is “absolutely the fulcrum, and essential to staffing the administration with people who reflect Trump’s commitments across the board,” said Marjorie Dannenfelser, head of Susan B. Anthony List, a prominent group that opposes abortion rights. “I can say it’s been a source of great confidence during the election to know that principled people were planning for a Trump administration.”… “

Three sources from different conservative groups said that Heritage employees have been soliciting, stockpiling and vetting résumés for months with an eye on stacking Trump’s administration with conservative appointees across the government… But there’s no question that the organization is recognized, among other conservative movement leaders, as the entry point into the Trump transition team… assisting the candidate and his team with matters like determining potential Supreme Court justice nominees. …

Perhaps Heritage’s most significant involvement during the campaign was its experts’ shaping of Trump’s list of Supreme Court choices, ultimately resulting in a selection of conservative thinkers who oppose abortion rights.” I do not vouch for the validity or truthfulness of this article but it certainly shows a pretty deep connection between the two.

And the lies keep coming!
