INCIID Relaunches Employer Fertility Benefits Registry as Fully Searchable National Database

Pioneer nonprofit rebuilds one of the first employer fertility benefits resources in the country — now listing 311 named U.S. companies searchable by coverage type

CLIFTON, Va., May 27, 2026 — The InterNational Council on Infertility Information Dissemination (INCIID), a nonprofit serving the infertility and reproductive health community since 1995, today announced the relaunch of its Employer Fertility Benefits Registry — one of the first patient-facing employer fertility benefits resources ever created — now rebuilt as a fully searchable national database available at inciid.org.

The registry currently lists 311 named U.S. companies and allows patients to search by benefit type, including IVF coverage, egg freezing, surrogacy support, adoption assistance, and fertility medications. Unlike survey data published by benefits consulting firms, which tracks aggregate percentages across anonymous employer populations, INCIID’s registry identifies companies by name — giving patients the specific, actionable information they need when making career and treatment decisions.

INCIID originally created one of the first employer fertility benefits resource lists in the early 2000s, when fertility benefits were rare, largely invisible to patients, and almost entirely absent from mainstream HR conversation. The original data was lost through site migrations over the years. The 2026 rebuild restores and dramatically expands that resource.

“For 30 years, we have heard directly from patients who are trying to navigate career decisions alongside treatment decisions,” said Nancy Hemenway, Executive Director and Co-Founder of INCIID. “The registry exists because a statistic that ‘42 percent of employers offer fertility benefits’ doesn’t help someone know whether their own employer does — or whether that benefit is actually usable. The devil is in the details, and we are committed to helping patients find those details.”

INCIID emphasizes that not all fertility benefits are equal. A company that says it covers IVF may cap lifetime benefits at $30,000, while another offers $150,000. When a single IVF cycle can cost $25,000 to $30,000 before medications, that difference is the difference between one attempt and a realistic path to building a family. INCIID’s registry and patient advocacy work stress the importance of verifying benefits before making employment decisions.
